Andrew Sayer

Andrew Sayer is Professor of Social Theory and Political Economy at Lancaster University, UK. An advocate of ‘postdisciplinary’ research, he has written widely on inequality and ethics in everyday life, and the relationship between philosophy and social science. He is author of many books, including, Why Things Matter to People: Values, Social Science and Ethical Life, Cambridge University Press, 2011, and Why We Can’t Afford the Rich, Policy Press, 2014, winner of the Peter Townsend prize for 2015.
